COVID-19

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Shaker Historical Society has made the difficult decision to close the museum indefinitely beginning November 11, 2020 due to rising and record-setting COVID-19 cases. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority during this time.

To help stop the spread of coronavirus:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water

  • Wear a face covering over your nose and mouth when around others

  • Avoid crowds and gatherings

  • Practice social distancing

  • Limit travel

  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms

Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and website for the most up-to-date information about programs and events. While our doors are closed, you can still view our digital exhibits, including past exhibits, on our website!

Our top priorities during this time are to keep visitors and staff safe and healthy; to keep the collection safe; and to maintain a connection with the community.

Visit the Ohio Department of Health's Coronavirus page to learn more about COVID-19 in Ohio and how to protect yourself, your family, and your community.

When the museum reopens, we will be adhering to the following protocols based on State of Ohio protocols and museum best practices. In the event SHS cannot meet these guidelines (e.g. shortage of cleaning supplies, etc.), the museum will close to the public until proper protocols can be resumed.

Our Ohio History Connection-approved reopening guidelines can be downloaded here. A summary is listed below. Please note that these guidelines may change with further COVID-19 developments. We appreciate your patience and support during this time!
