Brianna Treleven, Executive Director

Among her six years of museum experience, Brianna has interned at a number of Northeast Ohio museums, hunted through the Andy Warhol Museum archives, and served as an Ohio History Service Corps member assisting 12 organizations. She has said for the past several years that her dream job was working in a small, Cleveland-area museum, and now she has the honor of leading one in beautiful Shaker Heights!

She holds a BFA in fine art photography from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MLIS with a focus on museum studies, archives, and special collections from Kent State University. Brianna's hobbies include hiking, visiting museums (of course), reading, doing her best on New York Times crossword puzzles, and continually searching for the best gluten-free pizza (currently #1: Lorenzo's in Oberlin).

Allison Henline, Education & Outreach Manager

Allison received her MA in History with a certificate in Applied History from Youngstown State University. Her historical topics of interest include the second industrial revolution in the United states and immigration during the turn of the 20th century with a particular focus on Jewish immigrants to America. She has extensive experience working with students and school age children, and is a licensed 7-12 grade social studies teacher in the state of Ohio. Allison has taught middle school and high school social studies in Youngstown, OH before moving abroad to teach in London, UK for a year. She has always wanted to help connect communities and history and is incredibly excited to create new opportunities and programs!

She was Vice President of the Alpha Gamma Beta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta honors society at Youngstown State University and chaired the History Across The Humanities (HATH) Conference for two years. She has extensive experience working with schools, creating museum programming and outreach events for all ages and interests

Allison enjoys a variety of hobbies and interests which include spinning yarn and sewing, playing video games, and she particularly enjoys cooking and creating new recipes. She is a dog lover and her adopted greyhound, Andy, is the joy of her life.

Kate Walker, Marketing & Operations Manager

Kate is an award-winning communications professional who has experience working in a variety of industries including: non-profit, corporate, and government agencies. She graduated from John Carroll Universtiy with a degree in Communications in 2004. She has worked in Washington DC, Chicago, and Cleveland doing strategic communications, consulting as well as sales and marketing work. Kate loves working with people and learning about their history. Kate lives with her family in Shaker Heights and is excited about working at the Shaker Historical Society and utilizing her communications experience to help raise awareness about this history of our great community!
