The Lissauer Gallery features art from Northeast Ohio artists. Founded by Jack and Linda Lissauer, Shaker Heights residents and longtime supporters of the arts, this intimate gallery is designed to encourage new and emerging artists, promote an appreciation of art, and support local artists. We also acknowledge partnerships with leading galleries such as Bonfoey Gallery, The Maria Neil Art Project, and Tregoning & Co.

Student Art Showcase

January 28 - February 27, 2022 (Second Floor)

The Shaker Heights High School Art Department is a hub of artistic talent in our community, and we are proud to feature student work in our first Lissauer Gallery exhibition of the year. Visit the museum between January 28 and February 27 to celebrate student art, and join us on Sunday, February 27 from 2-4pm for a free public closing reception of the Student Art Showcase.

This exhibition is a collaboration with the Shaker Heights High School Art Department and the Shaker Schools Foundation. Please note that this exhibit is located on the second floor and is not ADA accessible. Masks are required inside the museum and during the reception.

Juneteenth Quilt Show — African American Quilt and Doll Guild

June 19 - September 12, 2021 (Second Floor)

The African American Quilt and Doll Guild's philosophy is to share their work, our ideas, and talents in a comfortable and caring atmosphere; to explore their African-American heritage with respect to the textile arts; and to teach and inspire each other. This Juneteenth, the Shaker Historical Society is celebrating their work and commemorating Juneteenth with a quilt show in the Jack & Linda Lissauer Gallery. All That Remains

September 4 - November 7, 2020 (Second Floor)

All That Remains is an exploration of human nature in the form of ephemeral objects. The emotive anatomy you see interlaced with a brittle leaf the very essence of fragility, tenderness and connection between individual beings.

Samantha Bias is a Cleveland-based experimental contemporary artist who emphasizes her work largely on nature and natural objects. Focusing on alternative process, Bias pushes the concept of what photography is and can be. Her muses are depictions of figurative beings and digitally altered photo collage rendering black and white images on objects such as leaves to fuse the natural world with her own imaginative vision.
